If you’re a service-based business owner, expert, coach, or consultant wondering how to attract your ideal clients for your business, the problem likely isn’t your offer—it’s your understanding of who you’re selling to.
Why everything starts with your ideal client
A good marketer isn’t just someone who knows how to sell; they deeply understand the people they serve. That’s why I dedicate hours each month to listening carefully to my audience—service-based CEOs, highly qualified experts, and experienced coaches. Through meaningful conversations, I’ve noticed a couple of recurring patterns, first they don't know how to attract ideal clients for their business and also:
🔹 Many business owners and service-based entrepreneurs start creating offers before knowing exactly who they’re for.
This is a critical mistake. If you don’t have clarity on your ideal client, your marketing efforts will feel like throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks.
Let’s look at an example.
The common mistake: Building an offer without a buyer
Sinead (a fictional name) came to me excited about a new service she was developing. She had already started building the program, designing the experience, and even thinking about how how to attract the ideal clients for her service.
But there was one problem—she had no idea who would actually buy it.
From a marketing standpoint, this is a recipe for failure. Why? Because without a clear problem-to-solution match, it’s nearly impossible to create messaging that resonates, price your offer correctly, or attract clients who are ready to buy.
The right approach: Start with the client, not the offer
Before creating any new service, ask yourself:
✔️ What problem am I solving? (And is it urgent enough for someone to pay for a solution?)
✔️ Who has this problem? (And do they value solving it enough to invest?)
✔️ Am I passionate about helping this type of client?
Once you have these answers, you can build an offer that speaks directly to your ideal client and differentiates you in the market.
How to attract your ideal clients for your business
The key to more sales isn’t about having more offers, more content, or more marketing—it’s about having the right offer for the right person.
So before you build your next service, take a step back and get crystal clear on your ideal client. It will save you time, energy, and frustration—and most importantly, it will help you attract the right clients without burnout.
I hope this makes you think before launching your next offer! 🚀
